Here is a more comprehensive list of the available Fellowships that have a September 2016 deadline:
- Thesis and dissertation research awards for graduate students
- Awards to pursue projects and/or formal study in (almost) all areas of the creative arts
- English Teaching Assistantships (teaching or co-teaching English as a second language, at various levels from kindergarten through adult learners)
- Fulbright-Clinton Fellowships (placements in public service internships with government offices
- Fulbright-National Geographic Digital Storytelling Fellowships (awards to intern in a digital storytelling research project/production of online content production with NatGeo)
To be competitive for a Fulbright award, students must generally have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, though some applicants with lower GPAs but strong applications will succeed, and some applicants with higher GPAs will not succeed. GPA is not a determining factor, but it is one among a handful of factors that are considered. The awards are competitive nationally, and the UO has a solid track record of successful applicants. Early preparation and planning is your best strategy for success.
