The Dead Sea, once called one of the seven natural wonders of Asia, is in risk of disappearance. According to the Smithsonian Magazine, sea levels at the Dead Sea are lowering by approximately 3ft every year. NPR has attributed the loss in water volume to a combination of water exploitation and climate change. Beyond the loss of a natural beauty, the lowering sea levels have led to numerous sinkholes, posing danger to local populations. Only few solutions have been proposed for preserving the Dead Sea with not much change being made, yet. This website will provide you with everything you need to know about the Dead Sea, the issues it faces, the proposed solutions, and their limitations. We hope these findings will help spark new discussion and solutions.
