Hello! I’m Frida and I am Mexican-American, originally from Florida where being bilingual in Spanish and English is very common. Moving to Oregon has made me want to venture more into the realm of language, how we learn them, and how we can better teach them to the larger population. I have previously thought of Mandarin and computer science as very difficult languages to learn, but with my team we have found ways to tackle this by breaking it down into ways that anyone can learn from our program. As we are moving into a technological and multicultural society, I believe in incorporating language and computer science with students to incorporate problem solving, creativity and diligence to better their thinking skills.
大家好，我叫Frida，是墨西哥裔美国人！我从Florida来，会说英语和西班牙语，在Florida会讲英文及西文是很常见的。搬来Oregon让我更想了解语言的奥妙，让更多人以更好的方式学习到不同的语言。以前，我认为中文跟计算机科学是很难的科目，但我们的小组找到了很好的方法，并写设计了一个程序，以便让所有人都可以用一步一个脚印的方式学习这两个科目！当人类处于一个科技发达且拥有多元文化的社会中时，我认为学习语言及计算机科学对于学生的问题解决能力、创造力以及思考技巧都有相当大的帮助。
