Dear University of Oregon Faculty and Staff,

As a result of the recent budget reductions, Campus Planning and Facilities Management will be making some changes to the services we provide to campus. CPFM custodial staff will continue to focus on essential cleaning and sanitation tasks, including the regular cleaning of restrooms, classrooms, teaching labs, and high-use common areas.

After careful analysis and consideration, starting October 20, 2025, custodians will vacuum, sweep and collect trash from personal offices on a reduced schedule, moving from weekly to monthly service. Services will be performed in the first or second full week of the month (subject to one or two exceptions to account for buildings with larger numbers of offices) based upon custodial availability. Notice will be provided to occupants of each building regarding the service schedule. Note that this change does not apply to office suites, classrooms, teaching labs, or spaces that are not serviced by CPFM custodial staff.

Occupants who require trash service outside of their monthly office cleaning may dispose of trash in centrally-located trash receptacles within public areas that are serviced daily. Office trash cans should remain inside offices and should not be placed in hallways or public areas, which could create a safety hazard.
