Parking Lot 12B Closure 9/14/19 – 9/15/19

During September 14th and 15th, Parking Lot 12B, North of Klamath & Streisinger, will be closed while a crane sets ductwork and miscellaneous construction components on the roof of Klamath Hall.  This is the last large crane mobilization for the renovation project.  Remaining crane work will be contained within the Streisinger Hall loading dock.  Klamath Hall occupancy will NOT be effected during the time.

Onyx 292 HVAC and Refrigerant Equipment Installation: 9/10-10/9

Update 10/4: This project has been extended due to humidity issues and is expected to be completed by Wednesday October 9th.

 

Update 9/26: This project has been extended and is expected to be completed by Friday October 4th.

 

Starting on Tuesday, September 10th and running through Friday, September 27th October 4th, contractors will be installing new HVAC and refrigerant equipment in Onyx 292. This work will entail demolition and removal of existing equipment through the exterior of the building. There will be boom lifts and safety equipment operating the the courtyard outside Onyx Bridge and Cascade Hall. Safety barricades will be in place to redirect pedestrian and bicycle traffic. Black Cultural Center Fire Alarm System Testing 9/24/19

Testing will now be performed at 8:00 AM on Tuesday, September 24th.

 

DATE REVISION:

This test has been rescheduled to start at 8:00 AM on Thursday, September 19th.

 

As part of the Lyllye Reynolds-Parker Black Cultural Center construction project, Andersen Construction and the City of Eugene Fire Marshall’s office will be testing the fire alarm system.  There will be audible horns and flashing lights. The testing will begin at 8 am on Tuesday, September 24th, 9/19/19, 9/16/19, and last approximately four hours.

Klamath Hall Fire Sprinkler Shutdown 9/9/19

On September 9th, from 5:00 am until 3:30 pm, fire sprinklers on the 3rd floor of Klamath will be offline while the new fire sprinkler system in the south half of the floor is tied in and the old system removed.   The contractor will be conducting a fire watch during this time.

Bark Mulch Blowing Noise Advisory 9/14/19

On Saturday, September 14th, bark mulch blowing will cause intermittent noise around the following locations:

Living Learning Center
Knight Law
Lokey Education
HEDCO
Johnson

Klamath Hall and PSC Building Steam Shutdown 9/12/19 – 9/13/19

On Thursday evening, September 12th from 7:00 pm, until Friday morning, September 13th at 7:00 am, building steam will be offline to Klamath Hall and Price Science Commons.  This will impact heating and steam condensate.  Temperatures in spaces may decrease during the outage.  Controlled temperature rooms in Klamath 261 & 273 will be provided with temporary electric heaters.

PLC Fire Alarm Testing 9/10

University Fire Systems personnel will conduct a brief fire alarm test in PLC on Tuesday, September 10, between 6:00 and 8:00 a.m.

Horns, Strobes, and Speakers on the fire alarm system will not sound after the scheduled time.  Provisions have been taken to monitor the building fire systems during this time and alarms that occur after the scheduled time should be considered real events and occupants should evacuate as usual per the U of O Emergency Procedures.
