Hello everyone!
My name is Sophie Phillips-Meadow and this is my first year after a gap year due to the pandemic. I am a Cello Performance major. I also play guitar and piano. Although I primarily study Western Classical music on the cello, I am interested in many styles and genres. I love Joni Mitchell, The Beatles, Stevie Wonder…the list goes on:) I also love Persian Classical music and music by the Silkroad Ensemble…

Additionally, I am considering either Global Studies, Political Science, or English as a minor…or maybe more than one:) Outside of music I love to read and write (why I chose this class!), spend time in nature (mountains/alpine/high desert), and travel.
Braiding Sweetgrass has been on my list for a while and I am really looking forward to reading this and the other books in class!
