About the Dean
Laura Lee McIntyre, the Castle-McIntosh-Knight Professor of school psychology in the Department of Special Education and Clinical Sciences, was named dean of the College of Education.
McIntyre has been at the UO for 13 years. Her research focuses on prevention and early intervention to improve child developmental and behavioral health outcomes among underserved children and families, including fostering family-school partnerships. She has served in several leadership roles on campus, including director of graduate studies, department head and institute director of the Prevention Science Institute. McIntyre also served on the university’s board of trustees.
Before she joined the University of Oregon in 2009, she was a faculty member in the psychology department at Syracuse University and an affiliated faculty member in the Center for Development, Behavior, and Genetics in the Department of Pediatrics at SUNY Upstate Medical University.
