We aim to educate 3rd-5th grade students on the importance on online identity and personal data. Our series of lesson plans will align with Washington state standards 1b-cs-02, 1b-ap-10, 1b-ni-05. It will be teaching students how to protect their online personal information. We will be using Scratch jr., and we will include art as an additional subject. Through the process of designing our lesson plans we have become deeply invested in the safety of our youth. We believe it is important to equip students with the right tools to protect themselves through comprehensive education. Our goals with this series of lessons is to prepare the next generation of digital citizens to protect themselves from online data stealers. We will do this by having the children create superheroes to protect their personal data and then make a game or video that helps show why they are important! We also want to show that technology can be fun while also being safe for all ages.
