CINEMA PACIFIC, based at the University of Oregon in Eugene, is devoted to showcasing and fostering the creativity of international films and new media. From 2010-15, Cinema Pacific presented six annual film festivals devoted to films and new media from Pacific-bordering countries. In late 2015, Cinema Pacific began focusing its energies on organizing year-round public screenings of media art, guest artist presentations, and media art installations at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art, and overseeing the online and onsite activities of the James Blue Project.
RICHARD HERSKOWITZ, Curator of Media Arts at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art, has led Cinema Pacific since 2009. He is also currently Director of Programming for the Ashland Independent Film Festival and Artistic Director of the Houston Cinema Arts Festival. He has served as director of the Virginia Film Festival and the Cornell Cinema program and as a trustee and president of the Robert Flaherty Film Seminar.
