Campus Outbreak Tweets

This map represents tweets related to cholera during the week of the epidemic. Clicking on each blue point reveals the exact location of the tweet, the date, and the content of the tweet.
The purple area represents where the majority of the tweets are concentrated, and where the tweets start to thin out across campus.
Based on the location of the tweets alone, there is a higher concentration of tweets in the southwest side of campus. There is a large amount of clustering in the Frohnmayer School of Music, The HEDCO building, and the Clinical Services building. The content of these tweets are largely related to either missing persons, known deaths, or allusions to music classes. This shows that there is a high concentration of music students who are affected by the cholera outbreak.
The remaining tweets in other locations on campus often refer to music students, the arts, and feelings of sickness.
