Resources for Graduate Students

Chemistry and Biochemistry graduate students at the University of Oregon have access to a plethora of resources. The on campus health center and counseling center are open to all students. The OMBUDS program and GTFF are non-University of Oregon affiliated resources which graduate students can go to for help. The ChemREFS and first year mentor programs are designated specifically for chemistry graduate students.

On Campus Resources

Graduate Teaching Fellows Federation

The Graduate Teaching Fellows Federation (GTFF) is the graduate student employee union at the university of Oregon.

ChemREFS

ChemREFS is a group of graduate students in the chemistry and biochemistry department who are here to assist in conflict management and problem solving for students in the chemistry and biochemistry graduate program.

First Year Mentor Program

The first year mentor program consists of a group of senior graduate students who are here to help first year graduate students transition into graduate school.

Health Center

The on campus health center is accessible by graduate students. Not only do graduate students have access to health services but the health center also offers counseling services.

OMBUDS program

The Ombuds program is a confidential, impartial, conflict management assistance program offered free of charge at the University of Oregon.

Off Campus Resources

Housing

Eugene has a wide variety of housing options. The Off campus housing website allows students to find affordable housing and roommates.

Bike Program

The Bike Program is a comprehensive resource for students that provides a free do-it-yourself maintenance workspace, classes, rentals, rides, and campus biking information.

Lane Transit District

The Lane transit district is the city busing authority in Eugene, where students can ride for free.

Safe Ride

Safe Ride is devoted to the idea that a person – regardless of gender identity, race, religion, sexuality, and more – should be able to go where they wish at night while feeling comfortable and secure.
