1. Where did you move from to attend the UO? And, briefly describe how you landed on the UO AAD program. Any interesting, funny, anecdotal stories/details are welcome.

  • I moved from the northeast. I grew up in Connecticut, and have lived in New Jersey the last ten years, working in New York the last five.  I’m actually in the Nonprofit Management Program with a focus is in Art Museums, but I chose UO after I visited, rented a car, and drove to the coast, and it was settled.

2. Area of concentration in AAD?

  • Art Museum Management.  

3. Describe your knowledge and use of technology systems.

  • PCs and smartphones.  

4. What software do you commonly use? Briefly describe purpose/application for software on your list.

  • Microsoft Office – Have been using Word for a long time for papers, some Powerpoint practice for presentations,  and I attempt to manage my finances with Excel.
  • Photoshop – Took a  class once and fool around with it now and then.  I know very little with the rest of the creative suite.  
  • Vista and Altru ticketing software – work related, museum admission sales

5. Do you have any graphic design or media production/management experience? Have you taken any graphic design or media production courses?

  • I took a continuing ed class at NYU for graphic design about five years ago.  Very introductory, it covered the concepts however there was no software instruction.
  • Assisted with the website redesign, specifically for my department, at the museum I previously worked for, Neue Galerie New York.

6. Know anything about typography?

  • There are a ton of fonts.  And I can tell the difference between serif and sans serif.

7. Do you use Web (2.0) apps? Name those that you use or are familiar with.

  • Gmail, Venmo, Instagram, something that measures my distance when I ride my bike, and a stargazing app.

8. Do you use Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Vine, Yelp, etc.)? Name those that you engage in.

  • Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn

9. Tell me something unique about yourself.

  • I always buy at least one postcard every time I visit an art museum.  

10. Anything else?

  • Art, The Outdoors, Music, Concerts, Reading, Cooking, Playing Pool, Travel/Trips.
