Tajikistan

Tajikistan- or the Republic of Tajikistan, as it is officially known- as one of the twelve “landlocked” countries in Central Asia. The area has been ruled by numerous empires and dynasties, including the Achaemenid Empire in 550-330 BCE, followed by three others leading; to the Mongol Empire in 1206. And thereafter flourished in the presence of the Timurid and Khanate of Bukhara reign, during Central Asia’s renaissance period. The region was immensely tied to the foremost part of cultural engagement, during the Neolithic and Bronze periods; housing the city of Sarazm- a home to contrasting faiths, ethnic diversity, large linguistic diversity, and cultures, (“including the Oxus civilization, Andronovo culture, Buddhism, Nestorian Christianity, Hinduism, Zoroastrianism, Manichaeism, and Islam.”) Latterly conquered by the Russian Empire, specifically the Soviet Union in 1929, until 1991 when Tajikistan declared independence from the disintegrating Soviet Union. Followed by the Civil War and the leadership of President Emomali Rahmon. Inadvertently pushing the Tajikistan people back into inequality of an uncharitable tyranny. With an authoritarian regime, the country has suffered from a profound injustice with human rights violations (torture, arbitrary imprisonment, worsening political repression, no civil liberties, and religious toleration.)
More recently, the Tajikistan republic has become “a member of the United Nations, CIS, OSCE, OIC, ECO, SCO, and CSTO as well as a NATO PfP partner.” Commonly seen as a developing country with a transitional economy (based on: remittances, aluminum, and cotton)
