AAD550 Art in Society

Learning Objectives:

  • Gain a better understanding of the term transmedia and its influence on participatory practices in art and society.
  • Use tools from anthropology, folklore, sociology, philosophy, etc., to begin to piece together relationships with art and the individual.
  • Learn how to write and speak in way that better articulates my thoughts, ideas, and opinions about art in society.
  • Gain a deeper understanding of material culture and its ability to engage in social and cultural change.
  • Learn more about art worlds through the creation of a field guide.

AAD610 Art Marketing, Media, and Communication

Learning Objectives:

  • Develop and hone design skills as they pertain to working within an arts organization.
  • Identify the core concepts of marketing, media, and communications and how these relate and can be implemented in various art worlds.
  • Gain a better understanding of how to market (effectively) to an arts organization or institution while taking into account the needs of both the institution and the audience.
  • Learn more about WordPress in general.
