Shibboleth 2 on Ubuntu
Shibboleth on Ubuntu is not as easy to setup as CentOS but I went through it and ran into only one bug. Here are the points:
- I used this guide to help with the installation.
- The command I executed to installed shibboleth 2 for Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick Meerkat):
sudo apt-get install libsaml2-dev unixodbc opensaml2-schemas xmltooling-schemas libapache2-mod-shib2
- That command should install everything you need. The last thing you need to that the install will not, is create the sp-cert.pem and sp-key.pem. Do that by running this command:
- That’s it your are good to go.
For those of you who are setting up Shibboleth at the UO, use this guide. The folks at IS who manage the Shibboleth IDP are awesome and provide great help in setting up shibboleth on your server.
