Even though I was told as a child not to talk to strangers, I often strayed away, only to be found with a new “best friend” by my (frantic) mother.

Not much has changed since then. I still strike up random conversations with strangers (even if my mom can’t see), but I hope that I’ve grown in my abilities to listen, connect, and insightfully tell the stories of those around me.
