Vision: To graduate successful professionals ready for a 21st century community and workforce
B.M.A was established in the spring of 2015 by the Center for Multicultural Academic Excellence.
The purpose is to provide academic, personal and social integration for self-identified Black/ African American male students. Our goal is to create community and provide an affinity space for personal, social, professional and academic engagement, community building and cultural enrichment. Currently BMA has over 35 members whose participation includes: students, faculty, staff and community professionals and mentors.
To reach our goals we are committing to three focus areas: Engagement | Enrichment | Achievement
We want our Black males to engage in meaningful interactions, learn from each other and from those around them, as well as take advantage of available resources at UO and environs in order to establish a culture of success. Ultimately we want every student to graduate successfully.
