The goals of the Birds & Blooms team were to assess previous restoration and management efforts of Willamalane Park and Recreation District at Dorris Ranch and give insight and recommendations for future efforts. This assessment encompassed a wide array of data collection, including oak, avian, and plant surveys. The team traversed oak woodland and prairie to consider the health of oak trees as well as the response of the biotic communities dependent on Oregon White Oaks.
We aimed to educate about the importance of Oregon White Oak habitats within the Pacific Northwest as evidenced by our research, and to continue to implement adaptive management techniques for critical Willamette Valley habitats.
