General Course Description:

Conservation Biology is a multidisciplinary science devoted to preserving the remaining biodiversity of our planet.The lectures and discussions will include such topics as patterns and values of biodiversity, causes of biodiversity loss, management of small populations, captive breeding and reintroductions, and designing networks of protected areas. While the lectures and discussions focus on the biological aspects of Conservation Biology, students are encouraged to incorporate other disciplines for their personal project on a current issue in Conservation Biology.
