Community Health Centers of Lane County offers assistance enrolling in Oregon Health Plan.  Trained Access Specialists meet with students and families to help them understand coverage options and assist with the application process. Oregon Health Plan Enrollment application is available at

UO Student Insurance
The UO Student Insurance is offers national and worldwide coverage to domestic and international UO students. Enrollment instructions, plan benefits, and costs can be found on the Health Center website.

University Health Center

Primary Care

Hours: Open every Sunday, from noon to 4:00pm.
Free healthcare.  The clinic is run by volunteer medical professionals. Patients check in with a nurse for initial assessment and then see a doctor. Patients can then select the treatment options they would like to pursue including pharmaceuticals, herbal treatments, nutritional and homeopathic care. Food and hygiene products are available for those in need.
Check in runs from 11:45–3:00 pm.  Being seen is not guaranteed if you check in after 3:00 pm.

Volunteer in Medicine Clinic

Volunteer physicians and nurses treat patients for primary care concerns. Diabetes management, pharmacy services, women’s health care, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, support to quit smoking, and lab services are also available.  Call to speak to a screening specialist about your eligibility.  Eligibility is based on gross household income.

Community Health Centers of Lane County
Location: Various locations throughout Eugene and Springfield
Providing affordable community health care for infants, children, adults and seniors. Their clinics provide prenatal care, family planning, family practice/internal medicine, a low cost medication program, dental prevention program for children, behavioral and alternative care.  Services are provided on a sliding scale for those who are eligible. Planned Parenthood of Southwestern Oregon

Services include birth control, annual exam, cervical and breast cancer screening, STD screening and treatment, HIV testing, abortion, vasectomies and more.  Cash, card, and money order payments are accepted. Willamette Family Inc

Provides detox, treatment for substance abuse disorders, mental health treatment for adults and children, primary medical care services, parenting classes, peer support services, and other transitional support services.  Call the Rapid Access Center (phone number above) between 8am and 8pm to discuss getting started.

White Bird Medical Clinic

Affordable medical care on a sliding scale for individual living below the poverty line.  Free for those experiencing homelessness. OHP and Medicare accepted. Private insurance not accepted.  No one is turned away for inability to pay.

Prescription Assistance

St Vincent de Paul

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 10:00am – 12:30pm and 1:30 – 4:00pm. Closed Wednesdays.
St. Vincent de Paul can provide $50 to cover prescription costs in a 12-month calendar year; however, exceptions can be made for emergencies.

Dental Care

White Bird Dental Clinic

Preventative and restorative dental care for those who qualify. New patient screening for eligibility available Monday through Friday before 10 am. Urgent care also available for those with OHP or on a sliding scale based on income.

Lane Community College Dental Clinic

Teeth cleaning and restorative care.  For some services dental hygienist and dental assistant students provide care under the supervision of dentists and hygienists. Accepts patients with Oregon Health Plan.

Counseling and Mental Health Services

UO Center for Healthy Relationships

Affordable therapy for the Eugene community provided in the training clinic by graduate interns in the Couples and Family Therapy Master’s program. Individual therapy for all ages and for a wide range of concerns.  Relationship therapy and group therapy is also available.  Fees are applied on a sliding scale based on the financial resources of the client. University of Oregon Psychology Clinic

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Low-cost psychotherapy and psychological assessment services for adults or adolescents older than 14 in the Eugene-Springfield area. Couples counselling available. Services are for community members as well as university faculty, staff and students. Services are provided by graduate students supervised by licensed Psychologists.
Fees are assessed based on income on a sliding scale from $10-50.  Fees are due at time of service.  UO students and military veterans pay the minimum fee of $10.  Please call the phone number above to set up an appointment or learn more about the services available.

Center for Community Counseling

Affordable counseling services on a sliding scale. Fees are charged on a sliding scale depending on income. Fees range from $5-$40. The initial intake interview is $20.00.  Support groups are also available for: depression, anxiety, dialectical behavioral therapy skills, mindful parenting, grandparents raising grandchildren, and there is a McKenzie River Center Men’s Group.  Group sessions charged on a sliding scale from $10-$20 per session. Northwest Christian University Counseling Center

National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Lane County

Provides mental health care for low-income adults including diagnostic services, counseling and medication. Counselors, psychologists and psychiatrists provide services by volunteering their time.
Must meet eligibility guidelines based on average monthly gross income—call the screening number (ab0ve) to discuss eligibility and schedule a screening appointment.  Will need to provide proof of residency, proof of gross income, and copy of loan/grant information. More information about eligibility can be found here.

Center for Family Development—Teaching Clinic
Eugene, OR—Several Locations
Therapy is offered for clients not covered by insurance.  Master’s level interns supervised by licensed clinicians provide individual and family counseling on a sliding scale based on monthly income and number of dependents. Looking Glass

Provides outpatient mental health treatment for children, youth adults and families.  Locations throughout Lane County.  Adolescent substance abuse treatment programs and crisis response services are also available. Centro Latino Americano

Provides individual and family counseling that is culturally and linguistically appropriate. Medicaid beneficiaries and those who are uninsured are accepted. Fees are charged on a sliding scale and may be free for those who qualify.  Alcohol and addiction programs as well as additional social services support are also provided by Centro Latino Americano.

The Child Center

Provides community based outpatient treatment including individual, group and family therapy for children experiencing mental health issues.  Also provides crisis planning, skills training and case management services as well as emergency services.

White Bird Chrysalis Behavioral Health

A treatment program for adults over 18 who need alcohol or drug abuse treatment as well as mental health support. Includes group, drug education classes, and couples and individual counseling. Accepts private insurance, OHP and a sliding fee scale. No one is turned away based on ability to pay.

White Bird’s mobile crisis response unit runs 24/7 in the Eugene-Springfield area. The team consists of a medic and a crisis worker for immediate needs for a psychological crisis. Can provide assessment, information, referrals, advocate, and transportation to the next treatment if needed.

Community Veterinary Center

Low-cost veterinary care offered on a sliding scale based on income.  Financial assistance may be available to address some costs.

Location: Eugene Mission–1542 West 1st Avenue
Hours: 9:30 am to 1:30 pm.  Arrive no later than 8:30 am to have name submitted in the drawing for an appointment slot.
Veterinary care for pets of people who are homeless. Services are provided on a lottery basis.  Clinic hours held on the 2nd and 4th Sunday January through October, and the 2nd Sunday in November in December.
