S3.3 Review Notes
– Urban Design and Architecture Design Intention
- In the street plan how could certain things be implicitly hinted at without the need to make larger changes (the curved road to creates nodes for social gathering spaces and too slow down traffic)
- How can the urban design better respond to potential building openings by creating pathways that drastically change the terrain (such as response to various market openings and the openings from the building itself)
- How can larger contextual relations be better addressed (such as the relationship between the people on the podium and those on the street or those on the podium to the market hall)
– Media
- In the perspective how can the building be better brought to life (grey rhino while pavilion is wood textured) to interact with the pavilion
- In section view possibly zoom in to better capture the street life rather than showing too much context (specifically for the cascading pavilion section)
- How can the mapping zoom in on the pattern itself with keeping the background context as minimal as possible w/ clear orientation
– Adv Tech CLT mass timber
- Possibility to show a closeup of the construction of the CLT pavilion
- May be helpful to better understand pavilion with points in time sun showing the effectiveness of shading from southern overhead sun
- Zoom out to show CLT Pavilion in relation to building in axo/iso view rather than solely showing it in section
– Place, Culture and Urban ecology
- In the timeline how can events be tied to one another to show spacio-temporal connections
- Add more contextual images that are able to clearly lineup and aid the events
- How can the readings be better brought into the picture connecting to certain events and how to highlight them in the timeline
Three possible proposed revisions:
- Floorplan reworking details and having zoomed in on certain parts to better explain their rationale and connect to precedents of the city
- Rework the details showing the pavilion and its constructions from different views including the perspective
- Rebuild certain section, specifically the cascading pavilion one to zoom in better to show details and changes in texture in the landscape and overall clarity
