The Southeastern Balconies of the tower will naturally transform with the seasons creating a comfortable space for relaxing, observing and gathering. 

When is this point-in-time date and time?
Which environmental forces are being filtered such as radiance, air pollution, sound pollution, humidity, light, air temperature, smell, etc?
Which environmental forces are being embraced?

The goal of these balconies is to minimize thermal radiation during the summer solstice and maximize it at the winter solstice. They are oriented in order to block cold northern winds in the winter and allow the 3pm summer winds to cool the space and relieve it the effects of humidity. Plants are what will help the space seasonally adjust to the sun while scrubbing the air and introducing fragrance to the microclimate.

This experience is for the tenants of the apartment and to allow them to welcome, host and relax outdoors despite hot or cold temperatures.

Strong northeastern winds and high sun angle in the summer, blustery southern winds and low sun angle in the winter. The goal is to create a microclimate that adapts to the seasons allowing comfortable year-round use of the personal patios that impacts the interior space in the same way.
