RCR ARQUITECTES + La Vila Schedule

RCR Arquitectes will host the La Vila workshop. Please familiarize yourselves with their projects but also how and why they go about there work.  Their work especially fits the sensitivity of being in Oregon, close to a rich sense of ecology and designing to celebrate that.

Regarding the workshop preparation, we suggest you watch the video by Jordi Pigem on the concept of place, which can be found on our YouTube channel:

The video is subtitled in English and has a duration of 20 minutes.

In addition, during the workshop, the topics of LandArt and ephemeral architecture will be discussed. If you wish to introduce your group to these theme, you are free to do so. However, feedback is not indispensable as the workshop will provide an immersive experience on these topics. ”

I will also lead a discussion of public art work I have done with Janet Echelman starting in 2000 with her first large public art work in Porto titled “She Changes” (I like minute 1:52) that I collaborated working while in graduate school. The following pieces on her Wiki were all done with me before she had an office.

Her Secret Is Patience in downtown Phoenix; Water Sky Garden which premiered for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics; She Changes on the waterfront in Porto, Portugal; and Every Beating Second at San Francisco International Airport.
