Speranza Bottom Up Reading

Speranza Bottom Up Reading

The bottom up approach that Speranza discusses is an approach that I would prefer to take. When studying the parameters that Speranza mentions, it connects design to the people and makes it a more personal connection to the site. For example, Speranza mentions that the objective of human spatial experience is the real world objective. When applying this approach to design, there is more attention being put into the needs of the community, we can understand the real vs theoretical.

The guidelines of protecting historical industrial factories in Barcelona are increasingly important, and as Speranza explains, 22@ is a perfect example. As architects design with the bottom up approach, the adaptation to the community being designed for is crucial. When doing this, there can also be a great adaptation to each new generation.
