Reading Response 002

A Thousand Years of Non Linear History, by Manuel DeLanda

I really enjoyed De Landa’s philosophical take on bias. Mentioning the issues with non-linear problem solving, I thought was very intriguing. The idea that scientists have come up with solutions with highly developed computer systems is not DeLanda’s first choice, as he would rather solve issues by hand. He then talks further about the evolution of the human species and how that has impacted our moral behavior and bias over time.

Data dimension reading

This reading was very helpful in determining many other ways to do the proper research. I never knew how complex collection of data could be, however, I have learned that when many stacks of data need to be shown in a single sheet, there must be clever ways to organize them. Knowing where and how to collect data is also very important in determining and showing a proper data set. Lastly, I really enjoyed the graphics displayed throughout the article, which gives many ideas for the future.
