This article focuses on noise pollution and how noise disturbs the daily lives of people living in Barcelona. According to the  Barcelona Public Health Agency,  noise pollution is the second environmental factor with the greatest impact on health, after pollution. One of the most common effects caused by chronic exposure to environmental noise, according to a study referenced in the article, is sleep disturbance. One in four Barcelonans,  according to the latest  Barcelona Health Survey, considers that their home is affected by noise from outside.

Even through there has been a collapse of pollution rates, there is still a call to futher forcefully reduce the pollution. In addition, the Climate Change Law requires municipalities with more than 50,000 inhabitants to have low-emission zones that restrict traffic and reduce pollution from next year.
