Upon reviewing the data, furniture was the product category which yielded the lowest profits. The total profits of furniture were  approximately $117,000 dollars. For comparison the total profits yielded from the sale of office supplies was over $518,000 dollars. After dividing the profits by the amount of sales for each, there is almost a $7 dollar difference in profit for each sale between the two product categories. It is clear that office supplies are the much more profitable product and account for a larger portion of total business. It is important for the company to realize what is making them the most profit and focus on pushing those items the most. The emphasis should be on office supplies over furniture. One last thing that was looked at was profits for each form of shipping. Of course, the results were as expected. The delivery truck was far and away the most profitable form of transportation while regular air was second and express the least profitable. While it may not be possible to use the truck for every delivery, its clear that it should be used the most. With express delivery only used if requested or required.

Insurance blueprint process

This is a map of the entire insurance process, which follows the initial contact between the insured seeking coverage to the agent presenting the insured with a quote. One way that this process could be improved would be simply streamlining the process. Once an agent receives an inquiry, if they had an in house MGA or brokerage they could eliminate much of the correspondence which slows the process. If an agent could directly speak with someone in their office they could get a quote and present to the insured the same day which would speed up the process of binding coverage and make all parties involved much happier and more efficient.

 

Executive Health Spa

  • This photo shows recently purchased homes above $500 thousand dollars in the immediate area of the proposed location of the spa. The amount of homes sold proves that there is an abundance of affluence in the area we are targeting.
  • Location: Downtown Lake Oswego
  • Reasons why to choose this location:
    • Located on A street which is the main street that goes though this unique and beautiful city.
    • It is located in between the 3 main freeways/highways in that area. It is 10 minutes off both 217 and I-5 and 15 minutes off of I-205.
    • It is also located in between Lake Oswego Country Club, Lake Oswego High School, and Marylhurst University.
    • This location is surrounded by communities that offer homes well above half a million dollars. Including retirement homes which would be a community in which would enjoy going to a spa.
    • There is a very popular location to have wedding receptions. Not sure what bridesmaids do before the reception but feel like a spa isn’t a bad guess. It is less than 5 blocks away from the location we would hold our spa.
    • There is 29 businesses located in that area which have about 100-500 employees which is an added benefit to where our spa is located.

Additionally, by looking at customer potentials, household income in city of Lake Oswego shows about half of households have over $100,000 or more yearly income, which tends to be a potentially profitable market. And median age in this city is around 45, people around this age might be a group going to spa very often.
