Airport Categories (FAA) – Airports are categorized by type of activities, including commercial service, primary, cargo service, reliever, and general aviation.

Airport Codes – ICAO and IATA airport codes.

Airport-Data – Aviation information including airport and aircraft databases.

Airport Design (FAA) – Contains the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) standards and recommendations for the geometric layout and engineering design of runways, taxiways, aprons, and other facilities at civil airports.

Airport Design and Engineering Standards (FAA) – This page provides a quick reference to engineering, design, and construction standards for various airport-related equipment, facilities, and structures.

Airport IQ 5010 – The Airport data accessible via this site is a service provided by GCR Inc. (GCR) and is structured in accordance with the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Airport Master Record Forms (5010-1 & 5010-2). The data displayed is derived from the FAA’s Aeronautical Information Services. The date of the data set matches the date of the most recent Airport Facilities Directory (AFD).

Airport Master Plans (FAA) – Provides FAA guidance for the preparation of airport master plans that range in size and function from small general aviation to large commercial service facilities.

AOPA Airport Directory – Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association directory of airports.

Citizen Participation in Airport Planning (FAA) – Provides guidance for citizen involvement in airport planning. Although not mandatory for airport grant programs, it explains the need for early citizen participation.

Heliport Design (FAA) – Provides standards for the design of heliports serving helicopters with single rotors.

Interim Guidance on Land Uses within a Runway Protection Zone (FAA) – This memorandum [pdf] presents interim policy guidance on compatible land uses within Runway Protection Zones (RPZ )to address recurrent questions about what constitutes a compatible land use and how to evaluate proposed land uses that would reside in an RPZ.
