Ava Cole is a first year student at the University of Oregon majoring in Journalism and planning to double minor in Science Communication and Environmental Studies. She is very passionate about writing, as well as visual arts like photography and videography and hopes to pursue a photojournalism career after graduating. She grew up with a love of the ocean and everything about it, and she hopes to contribute to the conservation of coastal and marine environments by advancing awareness and creating work that inspires. Ava is a dedicated student and recently received the UO Excellence Scholarship as well as the SBSF merit scholarship. She also has experience in business and was a part of her high school’s Entrepreneurship Academy for four years. Ava looks forward to creating more meaningful work in the future that will make a difference in our fast-changing world.
