Linked below are the two essays produced by the “A” groups in response to the Module 1 prompt. Everyone in class should read through these (as you should for the coming efforts by groups for the remaining three modules), and extend any conversation by posting thoughts or follow up  you might have as comments here. We will have opportunity to discuss these essays in class today, as well!

Because of their structure, museums can fairly easily incorporate participatory offerings into their displays and exhibits, and more and more, they are catering to the audience’s desire to interact with art. But what I found most interesting was A2’s decision to use theater as an example of an engaging art venue because I probably never would have thought about that. And in reality, theater can be the most engaging depending on the interest of the audience. Furthermore, I like that they used the OSC and cited it as providing affordable options to allow for a wide variety of socioeconomic classes to be involved, because money is often a big problem with inclusion in the arts.
