Fall 2010 is the second term for the re-imagined AAD 450/550: Art and Society. We are pushing the Chaos Machine out of dry dock and towards new frontiers…somewhere between here and surreality! As such, you should poke around the site and familiarize yourself with the class plan/schedule, the assignment guidelines, and the overall structure (if only so you can come up with questions to ask). During our first class we will orient you to our expectations, plans, and set up groups associated with the rolling essay assignment. We will also introduce you to our in-class/out-of-class schedule that uses an every other class meeting plan to facilitate a more seminar-like environment. Our first class meeting will only run for an hour or so. We are participating in a reception/exhibit for the opening of a Confucius Institute at the University of Oregon. Our research project ChinaVine.org will be featured. We look forward to working with you over the next ten weeks.
