Green Cities

Green Cities is a course at the University of Oregon College of Design with an emphasis on urban sustainability, resiliency, and regeneration. The course examines the history and future of the interface between urban growth and environmental concerns, and the technological, social, and political forces that continue to shape it.

The special topic for 2023 is artificial intelligence. During the summer and fall quarters, over 80 students will collaborate with the Sustainable City Year Program, the City of Salem Oregon, and advisors on an ‘AI for city planning and management’ report to be published online in January 2024.
