For Monday, JAN 24:

  1. Post ~200 words that analyzes and responds to review comments along with a summary of MICRO & MACRO responses
  2. Interior & exterior perspective sketches
  3. Complete any missing Review#1 requirements:
  • a site model that really describes the major elements and the scale of the place
  • an informative site section and plan to scale
  • refined Micro study that is inspiring and relevant

For Fri JAN 7:  Post to Resources page & Blog post – reflection on process (achievements, challenges, crucial decision, next steps OR program (day in the life).  INCLUDE AT LEAST ONE QUESTION

For WED JAN 5: Prep for site and plan diagramming charrette…

1. Prepare the site section and plan drawings of your site. These must be at a measurable scale.
2. At the same scale, draw the gross area of your building as a rectangle on a trace overlay. Then draw similar rectangles at 1/2, 1/3, 1/4 the area to understand the size of the building at Floor Area Ratio of 2, 3, 4, etc.
3. On a trace overlay draw a 3 x 2 grid of 200′ x 200′ Portland city blocks with 85′ in between.

RECOMMENDED
– Create a site panoramic photograph using Photoshop’s PhotoMerge function or similar. Print it at a large enough scale so you really can feel the quality of the space.
– Use Bing.com to find “tilted” aerial views of your site (aka axonometric projections).

For MON JAN 3: draw your weekly exterior view and an interior view representing your current design concept (spend 15 minutes on each drawing)
