So my final review for this term went really well. I got some great feedback, criticism, and ideas for the direction that my project should go. Over my midterm the reviewers told me that they appreciated my ideas and thought my building program was pretty well figured out but my site plan and urban scheme was in need of development in order to support my ideas. This was especially important because my project is all about how the building can serve the local area, remediate the damage done to the site by intense industrial practices, and restore ecology back to the area. I took this very seriously and really tried to push these drawings to explain my ideas and they went over really well. I pushed my ideas of both site and building further but it seems the tables have somewhat turned. The jurors seemed to really like my overall idea, my site plan, and my urban scheme and now I need to dive into the architecture of my building to push these ideas to the next level. I want to really dive into the building and articulate how the architecture can be expressive of the site and the programmatic ideas. I want to rework some of the floor plans and then kick it up a notch and work more on exactly what it is going to look like in terms of structural tectonics, elevations, and sections. I’ve started these drawings but they need more development to be more convincing and expressive. I got what I wanted out of my review, I have a lot of idea to pencil out, and my thanks go out to the reviewers for their constructive feedback. Thanks!
