This image is not exactly what I pinned up on Weds, but its the same general underlay. I feel pretty good about the review, I have plenty of work to do, but I got a lot of good feedback to go on. I found that the biggest issue in the review was my representation of my work. It seemed like questions were raised that I had already addressed in my work, but wasn’t showing through in my drawings, that is partly why I went back and edited my drawings even though they are going to change from here, it was helpful to make them more complete. For the review, I wandered a bit from my original scheme, because I was feeling that it was getting a bit repetitive and boring, but I got some good feedback on ways to keep it linear and grid like, while still making it interesting. I felt like the general comments about connecting the building to the surrounding context were very important. I feel like I jumped scales and forgot to think about the context at this larger scale. I hadn’t given much attention to how the building meets the street edge and how it interacts with buildings around it at a human scale as opposed to an urban scale. I think exploring this in street sections will help me to have a more clear idea about what these relationships are. I also need to go back over my schematic drawings(especially in section) and refine the circulation and spatial relationships. A lot of work to do, but I am really grateful for the feedback on Wednesday, it definitely helped me move forward.
I am selling my house in a suburban Houston and my home furniture is in good shape, but not completely new. So should I think about representing the house furnished or unfurnished just before placing it on the market? What’s the best method?
