These are a few things I’ve been looking at since mid-term. I thought I should post them here since it could be helpful for some other people too.
First of, a couple things suggested by a friend
MOMA: Rising Currents – This is an exhibition by MOMA, dealing with the changing sea levels in NY. The exhibition materials are not published yet, but there are some images here and a video of panel discussion here.
WPA 2.0 and HB:BX – Both of these are the design competitions with relationship to existing infrastructures and waterfront.
And there are a few other projects I’ve found that has interesting ideas I could probably use.
Plinthos – A pavilion designed by mab architecture exploring the clay brick to create transparent/translucent effects.
The Urban Plaza – Project by La Dallman, converting the space under the bridge into a gathering space.
I’ll be updating the progression of my project in the next day or two … hopefully
I like the La Dallman precedent! Milwaukee! It’s a good transformation of a somewhat underutilized space. I found another precedent that may or may not be helpful, I’ll be sure to tell Mariah about it too, as I it might be beneficial to her. I couldn’t find much else on it, but thought I’d share:
