I’m starting to work on programming / circulation and have come to a temporary solution for structure and mutability as well. I have been sketching for a few days, and I need to make goals for myself now. One-get a good sketchup model going. Two-stop procrastinating and make an actual model. Made of physical matter! One. Two. I’m also trying to determine whether it would be okay for me to make a stopping point to get some mid-term quality drawings in for the review or whether I should keep working and show process and sketch drawings for the mid review. I imagine that Nancy and Suenn will let us know what they expect to see, which may answer that question for me. But at this point I think I’d rather keep working the design…Question for myself: What drawings or models will I need to explain my idea at the mid-term review? What elements of the design have I “missed”?
I am personally of the opinion that you should show at a review whatever you need to get your ideas across, and to get the feedback you need. Process work can be good if you are seeking advice on a particular part, but it can often be messy and unreadable to someone who does not know your project. I’d say, try for drawings that are clear, readable, and informative over “finished” or “midterm quality.” But Nancy and Suenn may say differently.
