Unifying element.

The review was very helpful in pointing me in the right direction. I realized that even though I have this specific idea of Social Tissue Creation Center ( STCC ) I was respecting the site so much that I was not engaging the surrounding area and not opening the site to its surroundings. The loofah sponge material study and conceptual study came from a search for Biosynergy and Biomimicry. I also wanted a beautiful material that would spread light without having an acrylic rod as the main light conductor. Cutting the sponge revealed a series of chambers, nooks, partitions and levels that I find quite inspiring in the research for a form that brings beauty and function. Without being only a bridge this building would be a connector sliding on the contours of the highway it is surrounded by. A series of restaurants, green spaces, boutiques, bike shelters, bike parking, bike paths, walking paths and possible inside outside screening rooms would make this a highly interactive space. Booths for independent merchants and up and coming musical groups can also be integrated to the program adding the value of sound and smell to the experience of being there, in the presence of this building. After a jog through the path one morning or a peaceful bike ride one afternoon hopefully memorable experiences are created.
