Bei Bei,
There is a lot of great historical analysis in this thesis proposal. You have set up, potentially, a very sensitive architectural response to the problem of cultural peril in the face of rapid industrialization and development in China. I think it would be good for you to think about how exactly you want to address this issue with you architecture. How will the architecture, not just the program, defend the cultural richness of Wuhan,and of this particular district? Will you emulate the historic style? Will you make an argument for a mixture of contemporary and historic? Decide what your interpretation of the cultural historic dialogue be, and make your thesis statement more about what you decide.
You do a great job of identifying the problem in your thesis statement, now you should posit your architectural solution to the problem. Good Luck!
