This was the model from around mid term, finally getting to post it now. The model represents the site, existing conditions and relationship with some of the immediate context. The gravel represents the site, and was used to show the broken or fragmented nature of it’s purpose. It was once a strong place for industry, but has lost it’s identity in modern days. The water tube represents the river and its disconnection from the site from personal interaction. The metal panel represents production, and how it once overwhelmed the site.
Building the model led me to understand some of the existing relationships between elements near the site, historically and today. How can my thesis project begin to create stronger connections between the River, Context and historical heritage.
