I’m going to repost different versions as I finish certain milestones. I’m getting in actual written content and images right now and I’ll update the link as I go.
Well here’s the final version! As I send this to print I’m acutely aware that my great displeasure in the footnotes not being formatted correctly according to Chicago Manuel of Style only because I had really anal retentive writing teachers once upon a time but I’m getting past it. (just in case you’re bored during break and want to revisit high school english) Here you go.
FINAL THESIS PREP SEMINAR DOCUMENT – Wed Dec 8 2010
Looking great! I love the clean layout, it really lets the images speak for themselves. I would argue for going back to the “clean” table of contents page, without the photo behind, for the same reason.
I think the “program numbers” page is clever and fits graphically, but does not actually deliver much useful information. I would look for a way to tie the numbers to the labels.
It will be interesting to see how your diagrams work into the clean layout; I would try to work with a graphic language (colors, text, forms) similar to the orange-block title page.
Thanks for the comment! I agree with the photo on the table of contents – I deleted it about 15 minutes after I posted the draft : ) Thanks for the input!
I like your idea and your site. They work really well together and I’m glad you’re ballsy enough to choose the site, it could be super cool. I think your statement lacks just one sentence or so explaining in more detail the connection between natural systems / biomimetic / biophilic and science education geared towards urban educators. Even though the connection is obvious, it would be nice to have a really comprehensive statement and then deconstruct the underlying ideas and precedents, etc…
