Site Response Model

The primary aspect of the site that I tackled with this model was how the site could function urbanistically.  The site is located along the Truckee River, just outside what is the heart of Reno’s downtown, a network of the civic and cultural spaces centered on the river.  By using the connection to the river, my site would link-up to this network.  The idea is to “shorten” the distance between the market and the rest of downtown by using the river as a device to attract people to the site.

Shown below is the my site, represented by lone beige cylinder, being drawn closer to into other downtown attractions by using the river to gather the urban fabric closer together.
