Trapped land.

This metaphoric interpretation of my site represents the trapped nature of this piece of land. The elevated portion of this model represents the actual site surrounded by highways, the orange ping pong balls represents cars, standardization and the bubbles we live in when zooming past this site without even paying attention to it and the column of dry wall mesh shows the struggle and desire for this piece of earth to free itself and get a chance to be useful and appreciated. The program for my site is a small museum of future technologies representing the evolution of Portland as a green city. It is meant to be a a respectable icon, a little lens to the future. This site will be inhabited by the main structure but will have a couple of parasitic sculptural sculptures related to this one throughout Portland with screens that will allows the city of Portland to connect with its citizens about important ecological/cultural/development subjects. Let’s advertise the city back to it’s people!
