Second Model

I am trying to push the idea of storytelling within the building further – into a spatially concept. I still feel the facade on Burnside will be a great graphic tool for this idea but the context of the side – paths, programs, relationships between buildings, riverfront, ect can be storytelling tools as well. I’ve written a short ’story’ of my own which attempt to consolidate the information I have internalized from the portland development council reports, the census data I have compiled, and the information we have discussed in class. It briefly goes through the history of the neighborhood, its present condition, and my opinions on how to positively shape its future.

I plan on scanning the sketches soon so get them up and maybe creating a page for the story as it stands. Should have a sense for file sizes, ect soon.

First Studio Model

These are a few pictures from my first studio model. I am quite interested the collision of symbols, storytelling, and marketing happening on the site – fourth and burnside in old town Chinatown.

I’ve reduced the file size for now using paint. Can not wait until adobe is on my new cpu!
