Here are some final images of project 2 – bounced color.
The spacing of the fins proved to be the critical factor in bouncing the light off the interior painted surface. Also the transparency of the paper had to be altered by inserting black foam core between the two sheet. Without that addition the color was just bleeding through rather than being bounced.
I though our discussion of making patterns vs revealing phenomenon was interesting. The line between the two is certainly not always easy to define and I think a few of the projects this time around walked it very well.
I also appreciated the arduino demonstration. I am interested in the possibilities and I am definitely thinking about way of creating an interactive object for the final project – it is just difficult assembly all of the pieces, work out all the bugs, and get through the learning curve. If I can not get there during this class, there is always the summer
