Moving slightly away from the shadow studies of assignment one.  I am proposing a parametric wall screen that focus on the relationship between physical building joints and the light quality they can produce.  My inspiration derives from James Turrell’s installations that focus on pure geometric forms and light.  I find his work interesting because in some of his work he is highlighting, intentionally or not, the intersection of several architectural planes.  In essence he is highlighting the “cracks” that the intersection of two or more planes make.  I want to explore this phenomenon further by adding another dimension to it.  In doing so I will be attempting to include a parametric element into the project to obtain a organic quality that I found interesting in my shadow studies.
