This term, the Children’s Healing Art Project (CHAP) account team has been busy, busy, busy. Our biggest project was creating a series of infographics.

Infographics are a great way to present information in a fun, visually appealing way. They help your audience understand your information quickly and clearly. You can create infographics to spotlight a certain issue, share your company’s mission or highlight a specific product. For CHAP, our goal was to increase awareness about what CHAP does. We made sure to include CHAP’s mission statement and three strong statistics about CHAP. When designing these infographics, our team followed a couple tips. We’d like to share them with you.

  • Keep it simple: Keep your infographic clean and simple looking. Choose a maximum of three fonts and three colors to work with. Also, keep plenty of “white space” to keep the infographic looking clean and professional. Your audience will be able to understand your information more clearly and quickly this way.
  • Keep it important: Don’t drown the reader in a million facts and statistics. Gather your research and choose the most important facts and figures. Instead of having six so-so stats, find three that really drive your message home. Make sure to include graphs and charts on only these three facts as well.
  • Keep it positive: Add in statistics about the good that can come from donations. Including optimistic data is much more effective than just heart-wrenching facts. You should use this infographic as a way to tell your audience what their donations can do, not only what cause your client is apart of. If your objective for the infographic is to raise awareness and donations, the end should have a call to action. Your audience has hopefully read all your information and stats, so now what? Make sure to include a link for more information or to make a donation.

We hope these tips can help you when creating your next infographic. Our team was happy with how they turned out and more importantly, so was our client. Hopefully this advice inspires you to get designing! Just remember: have fun and keep it clean, informative and optimistic!
