READINGS

TASKS

Readings are required! Go carefully through them and use them to help form a basis for your postings in the weekly discussions.Readings: We have a short week – ending on Friday Oregon time. This is an overview week that will let you explore where you are, where you were, and reflect on what you’ve learned.

LoTI (Levels of Technology Integration): Digital Age Framework offers a way to evaluate how technology is being integrated into the classroom. Where do you fall? The levels go in order, so it’s not possible to be on Level 3 and Level 6 simultaneously.

Optional: Go back to a previous week and read something that you didn’t have time to read before. Share your thoughts on Nicenet.

Extra Credit: You can post a summative blog this week, reflecting on the course as a whole for up to 5 extra credit points. You are welcome to continue your blog after the end of the course.

Please make sure that you do the course evaluation this week. The evaluation will close December 14th. Let Deborah know if you do not have the link to the evaluation.

Course materials will remain available after the end of the course.

Discussions: Go to Nicenet, log in, and participate in this week’s topics. Read and comment on about learner autonomy, then read and comment on either the one-computer classroom or using a lab for language learning.

  1. Assess your school’s and your own level of technology integration using the LoTI framework. The levels go in order, so it’s not possible to be on Level 3 and Level 6 simultaneously. More importantly, think about where you would like to be in a year. Share your thoughts with your colleagues on Nicenet. Be sure to include ideas about how you will get to where you want to be in the future, and comment on other people’s ideas.
  2. Optional: Look back at the earlier assignments, and read or try something you didn’t do before or that you would like to do again. Share how you would use the information or the tool in your class. Comment on what others are trying, as well.
