Audio Only Submissions

For audio contributions of any length, including (but not limited to): soundscape, music, film scores, and spoken word. Due to data constraints, audio will be embedded in Adoptee and Literary Art Archive but hosted on SoundCloud.

Instructions for Submission

 

1) Create a Google account, if you do not already have one

2) If you are not submitting an optional Artist Bio and/or Artist Statement, skip to Step 7

3) Access Google Drive

4) Create a folder in Google Drive named: Lastname_Firstname_Year (example: Gershone_Hannah_2022)

5) Upload your contribution materials to the Google Drive folder (do not include anything else here):

    • Optional Artist Bio (maximum 100 words)
    • Optional Artist Statement (maximum 250 words)

6) Share the folder with adopteearchive@gmail.com 

7) Create a SoundCloud Account, if you do not already have one

8) Upload the track or a playlist on SoundCloud. When adding the basic info about your audio, be sure to select ‘Public” under the SoundCloud Privacy settings (under ‘Basic Info’ at the bottom of the pop-up after you upload your track)

9) on SoundCloud 

10) Copy and paste the URL link to your track from SoundCloud (this will be under ‘Web’ at the bottom of the page if you are following the SoundCloud instructions link provided in this step

11) Before you start the Qualtrics form (next step), have the following materials and information on hand:

    • The URL link to your SoundCloud audio (see Step 10)
    • If applicable, your shared artist bio and/or artist statement in a shared Google Drive folder (see Steps 3-6)
    • If applicable, a link to your Artist Website and/or Artist Collective website

12) Fill out the Qualtrics Submission Form (10-15 minutes if you have all materials ready)! The form will ask you for the URL link to your SoundCloud audio (and the shared link to your Google Drive folder, if applicable)
