Award: FRED K. THOMPSON SCHOLARSHIP

History of the Scholarship:

This scholarship came to the University in 1993 through a bequest from the estate of Fred Thompson of Portland. A retired Portland school custodian, Mr. Thompson supported teacher education through gifts to UO, OSU, and Portland State in his will.

The award recipients will be selected on the basis of the following criteria: 

• Undergraduate students, including 5th year students, in the field of education

• In need of financial assistance

• Demonstrated scholastic achievement
